Communicate Your Health: Supporting Inclusive and Compassionate Care

Communicate Your Health is a resource created to help healthcare professionals and interpreters in the Republic of Ireland improve communication and care for individuals with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and those who are Deaf, Deafblind, or have significant hearing loss.

Developed by Dr. Una Mac Conville, Dr. Regina Mc Quillan, and collaborators, in partnership with the HSE National Social Inclusion Unit and the Irish Hospice FoundationCommunicate Your Health includes:

  • Educational Tools: Resources to help healthcare professionals communicate effectively with patients.
  • Support Services: Links to resources for patients, caregivers, and allied health workers.
  • Interpreter Guidance: Advice for interpreters working in healthcare settings, including strategies for collaboration and self-care.

 

The platform aims to improve inclusivity, enhance communication, and provide support for healthcare professionals. Its redevelopment was supported by AIIHPC.
