Webinar, 5 March 2026
The All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC) hosted the HSE webinar on ‘Children’s Palliative Care in the Community’. This webinar highlights recent developments in children’s palliative care which have resulted from the implementation of the HSE 2020 report ‘Clinical governance and operational arrangements for supporting a model of care for children with life-limiting conditions towards the end of life in the community in Ireland’.
This report was commissioned by the HSE Chief Clinical Officer and developed by an expert advisory group led by Professor Bee Wee from the NHS. It provided clear actionable steps across workforce, education and governance workstreams which have strengthened and enhanced the delivery of children’s palliative care in the community.
This one-hour webinar provides an update on the implementation of the Professor Bee Wee report recommendations and considers the positive impact these developments have had on children and their families as well as the teams which provide the care.
Healthcare staff working in paediatrics, palliative care, community settings, service development, educators and policymakers with an interest in children’s palliative care.
