Spiritual Care: What is it and why it matters

Introduction
Spiritual care is about more than religion – it’s about meaning, connection, hope and humanity. In this webinar as part of Palliative Care Week and in conjunction with the launch of a new video resource we will explore what spiritual care really means in palliative and end of life care contexts, why it matters for patients, families and professionals and how it can be integrated into care to support people to live well until they die. 

The webinar was chaired by Daniel Caldwell, Chaplain and Lecturer at Atlantic Technological University. The panel included Fiona Galligan, RSM, Palliative Care Chaplain and John Wonnacott, Specialist Palliative Care Chaplain, Northern Health & Social Care Trust shared their insights on spiritual care beyond religion, including its relevance in hospice and community care, and its role in helping people live well until they die.

The webinar was aimed at health and social care professionals, people living with a life-limiting illness and those caring for people with a life limiting illness
